Deliverability insights

SPF, DMARC, provider and MX health, on every check.

Verification is more than yes or no. Every result carries the domain's mail exchangers, who runs them, whether SPF and DMARC are published and whether the domain checks names. Use it to segment by provider, spot misconfigured senders and keep your own domain in shape.

MX records

Every exchanger with its priority, so you know where mail actually goes and whether backups exist.

Provider detection

Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho, Proofpoint, Mimecast and 20 more, judged from the MX hosts.

SPF and DMARC

Whether the domain authorises senders and what its DMARC policy is, read from the TXT records on every check.

Catch-all status

Does the domain check names or accept everything? Cached per domain and shown on every address.

Segment by provider

Exports carry the provider column, so you can send Google and Microsoft cohorts at different times or volumes.

Your own domain

Deliverability starts with your DNS.

Since February 2024, Gmail and Yahoo require bulk senders to authenticate with SPF, DKIM and DMARC, offer one-click unsubscribe and keep spam complaints under 0.3%. The free checker shows your gaps in seconds.

  • SPF with a hard failA v=spf1 record that lists your senders and ends in -all or ~all, with under ten DNS lookups.
  • DMARC with a policyA _dmarc record with p=quarantine or p=reject and a rua address so you actually receive reports.
  • Clean lists, low complaintsVerification removes the bounces; a sunset policy and easy unsubscribe keep the complaint rate down.

  • DMARC p=none only monitors. Move to quarantine once reports look clean.
  • SPF ends in ~all. Use -all once every sender is listed.

How it works

Four lookups, one picture of a domain.

All of this happens in parallel with the SMTP handshake, so the extra insight costs no extra time.

  1. 01

    Resolve MX

The domain's mail exchangers are fetched and sorted by priority. No MX but an A record means implicit MX, which is almost always a dead end.

  2. 02

    Identify the provider

MX host names are matched against known providers and security gateways, or marked self-hosted.

  3. 03

    Read SPF and DMARC

TXT records at the domain and at _dmarc are parsed for presence and policy.

  4. 04

    Attach to the result

checks.spf, checks.dmarc, mx and provider appear in the API response and as columns in every export.

Visit the help centre
Does a missing SPF record make an address undeliverable?
No. SPF and DMARC describe the domain as a sender, not as a receiver. An address at a domain with no SPF can still receive mail fine. The flags are there to help you judge the sender side of a domain and to check your own.
Can Verifyre check DKIM?
DKIM keys live at a selector you have to know (selector._domainkey.domain), so they cannot be discovered from the domain alone. The SPF and DMARC checker covers what can be read publicly; check DKIM from your sending platform's authentication page.
Why segment by provider?
Google, Microsoft and Yahoo apply different throttles and reputation signals. Sending to one provider at a time in warm-up, or spacing large sends by provider, keeps any single reputation system from seeing a sudden spike.
What do the Gmail and Yahoo bulk sender rules require?
For senders of 5,000 or more messages a day to those providers: SPF and DKIM passing with DMARC alignment, a DMARC record (at least p=none), one-click unsubscribe headers honoured within two days, a spam rate under 0.3% in Postmaster Tools, valid forward and reverse DNS, and TLS.
