What it does

Verifyre and Constant Contact, together.

Reads your lists

Verifyre lists every list in your Constant Contact account and streams its contacts page by page, so even a list of hundreds of thousands never has to be exported.

Verifies with a real handshake

Each address goes through syntax, DNS, disposable and role checks and an SMTP conversation with its own mail server, with per-domain politeness so no provider is hammered.

Writes the verdict back

Undeliverable contacts are tagged, unsubscribed or suppressed, your choice, inside Constant Contact, after you have reviewed the results.

Setup guide

Set up Constant Contact in 4 steps.

You will need: a Verifyre account (free) and your Constant Contact access token.

  1. Create an access token in Constant Contact

In Constant Contact go to developer.constantcontact.com (create an app and use Generate Access Token) and create a token named Verifyre. Constant Contact only offers OAuth. The connect screen takes an access token you generate in the developer portal; tokens expire after a few hours, so paste a fresh one before each sync.

  2. Connect it in Verifyre

Sign in, open Integrations, choose Constant Contact and paste the token. Verifyre tests it immediately and shows the account it belongs to. A wrong key says exactly what Constant Contact answered.

  3. Verify a list

Pick a list from the list, confirm the credit estimate (one credit per unique address, duplicates are free) and start. Watch the counts fill in live; you get an email when the job is done.

  4. Push results back

From the finished list, choose the write-back action. Verifyre applies it only to undeliverable contacts by default; risky contacts (catch-all domains, role accounts) are left for you to decide on with the exported CSV.

Where exactly the access token lives

Constant Contact uses OAuth, so there is no permanent key. Sign in at developer.constantcontact.com, create an app (any name) with the contact_data scope, open it and use the Generate Access Token tool to authorise your own account. Paste the access token here.

Write-back

What gets written back to Constant Contact.

Verification only reads. Writing results back is a separate step you trigger after reviewing the counts, and nothing is ever deleted without your say-so.

  • Each undeliverable contact's permission to send set to Unsubscribed.
  • Or the contact removed from the list you verified (the contact record is kept).

Constant Contact FAQ

Constant Contact questions

Visit the help centre
Does Verifyre store my Constant Contact contacts?
Contacts are held only for the duration of the job and the result rows you can download; the credentials are encrypted and can be disconnected at any time, which deletes them.
How many credits does a sync use?
One credit per unique, well-formed address in the list. Duplicates, syntax failures and addresses verified in the last 24 hours are free.
Will it unsubscribe contacts without asking?
No. Verification only reads. Writing back is a separate step you trigger from the finished list, and you choose which action to apply.
Why does Constant Contact need a token instead of an API key?
Constant Contact's v3 API has no permanent keys; every call needs an OAuth access token. Creating a free app in their developer portal and using its Generate Access Token tool gives you a token for your own account without building an OAuth flow.
Can I still use a CSV instead?
Yes. Export contacts from Constant Contact, upload the CSV to Verifyre, download the cleaned file and re-import it. The token route just saves the round trip.
