Disposable detection

10,000+ throw-away domains, updated daily.

Temporary inboxes from Mailinator, 10minutemail, Guerrilla Mail and thousands of look-alikes are flagged before they reach your list. Subdomains of known providers are caught too, and the list refreshes every day.

10,000+ providers

Every known temporary inbox service, from the famous ones to the hundreds of rotating domains they spin up each month.

Refreshed daily

Disposable providers rotate domains to avoid blocks. The list is rebuilt every day from several maintained sources.

Subdomains too

anything.mailinator.com is still Mailinator. Parent domains are checked at every level.

Block at the form

The JavaScript widget and WordPress plugin refuse disposable addresses while the visitor is still typing, with a friendly message.

Flagged in bulk

Every bulk job marks disposable rows with the reason disposable, scored 0, in their own segment.

Free providers, separately

Gmail and Outlook are not disposable. Free-provider detection is a separate flag so you can treat them differently.

Why it matters

A disposable address is a subscriber who left before you said hello.

The inbox expires in minutes. Everything you send afterwards bounces, your welcome flow fires into nothing, and your free trial was claimed by someone who will claim it again tomorrow.

  • Trial and coupon abuseRepeated sign-ups from fresh temporary inboxes are the most common way free tiers get drained.
  • Polluted analyticsConversion rates, open rates and cohort sizes are all wrong when a share of accounts was never real.
  • Bounces that look like your faultThe provider sees a bounce from your domain, not from the throw-away service that caused it.

Temporary inboxes are not accepted. Please use a permanent address.

How it works

Three places to stop a disposable address.

The earlier you catch it, the less it costs. Verifyre checks at every stage with the same list.

  1. 01

    At the form

The widget checks the domain the moment a visitor pauses typing and asks for a permanent address instead.

  2. 02

    At the API

checks.disposable is true and reason is disposable, scored 0, so your sign-up endpoint can reject or route the account.

  3. 03

    In the list

Bulk jobs put disposable rows in the undeliverable segment with the reason shown, so you can suppress them in one export.

FAQ

Disposable email detection, explained

Visit the help centre
Will it block Gmail or Outlook addresses?
No. Free mailbox providers are a separate flag (checks.free) and are considered deliverable. Disposable detection only covers services that hand out temporary, expiring or public inboxes.
What about a legitimate user with a privacy relay?
Relay services such as Apple's Hide My Email or SimpleLogin forward to a real inbox and are not treated as disposable. Only services whose inboxes expire or are publicly readable are flagged.
How often is the list updated?
Daily. Disposable providers register new domains constantly, so the list is rebuilt from several maintained sources every 24 hours and applied to every check without any action from you.
Can I add my own blocked domains?
Yes. Account-level block and allow lists apply on top of the shared list, in the API, the widget and bulk jobs.
